I Am The Worst Mommy in the World

we just got back from the doctors. i went there to get the baby's shots and ended up at the ear, nose, and throat dr. because deacon had something stuck up his nose...

1 MONTH EARLIER...
deacon comes to me crying, "nose! nose!" and he was not breathing right so i assumed he inhaled something...well he started gagging and coughing and coughed up a bead. so he stuck a bead up his nose, but it came out and i thought it was over. for a time after that, he would freak out whenever i came near him with a tissue to wipe his running nose. after a week or two, that passed. i thought he just hated getting his nose wiped- how dense can i be? well apparently very because when his nose started to drain a yellow mucus only from one nostril over several days, i thought maybe he had allergies...

since i was taking carter in for shots i thought i might as well ask about deacon's allergy also. well, the dr. checked his nose and said he thought he could see something. he got his tools and tried to reach it, but it was too deep so he sent us to an e.n.t. we get to the e.n.t. and he sees it too and tries to get it out with his tools. long story short, after a couple failed attempts he finally pulls out a black gasket of sorts. the dr. cleaned it and gave it to me. to me, it looked like the outside of a hotwheels car wheel! amazing!!! he had that thing up his nose probably this whole time! did i take a photo of it to scrap about it? no. i'm too repulsed and embarrassed. poor kid...Posted by Hello

Don't feel bad Lisa, We have all had this happen. That's why doctors can't treat family. So cut yourself some slack :)

On the contrary, Lisa, you're one of the BEST Mommies in the World! Why? Because this will be a great story to pass along when he gets older and has kids of his own that he'll no doubt have to do some excavating on. :)

If you never had any embarassing moments before having kids, you certainly will afterwards! I have four of my own and numerous occasions to want to crawl under something and HIDE!

Just had to hit your site. You're mom4him and I'm inspired4him.

Enjoyed my visit. BTW, you sound like a Minnesota girl. Got a sister who lives up that way. I'm a misplaced Michigander stuck with a hubby who loves being as far south as you can get (well almost, Key West is the southern most point). I guess a good job might have a thing or two to do with that. ;-)

Blessings!
