quickie...
i just added some new photos to the photo blog, so go have a looksee!
finished my layout for gina's sketch challenge #6 :

papers and elements from Dawn Stocstill's "Simply Soft" kit
then i actually got the time to attend a crop at sbb! the simple style crop sketch was great!

paper and doodle heart are from Jen Wilson's "For the Girls"kit
i got my tablet to work again, i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, rebooted and everything else i could think of. then it hit me, that i removed the tablet disc from my computer while i was scrapping and had to put it back in to reinstall. now i wonder if that was the problem all along...
off now to tackle laundry and i have also decided to dig into a room a day and deep clean. today it will be the children's bathroom. for dinner we're having tamales! yum! no, i do not make these from scratch. even if i knew how, the time it would take me to make them would be um...not good.
bye for now!!

i was also ready to say that my local costco doesn't have the option of uploading photos and picking them up there later, because at one time, they did NOT have that option but there is one 15 minutes away, that does. but i can no longer say that. for the heck of it i called my local costco in hopes that they finally adopted this option and they have! so this is cool to know!
i finally installed my wacom intuous 3 tablet this morning!!! i was so excited that i could write and doodle- i called my 8 year old daughter to come and see. she just looks at it and says "cool".

then she asks, if she could try it. so i'm thinking sure, why not? so i give up my seat to go take a shower. i come back to find she has done this:

leave her alone for 5 minutes and she's got the thing figured out!
the three older kids went to enrichment today at their school. i was kinda excited for them to go so i could come back home and play with the wacom. they have enrichment on wednesdays from 10-2. so, i had it all figured out. i would drop them off, then take the little ones to the park, let them play for about an hour, bring them home, feed them lunch, then nap time! i would then have the rest of the time to scrap and play! well...how does that saying go? best laid plans...two of them fell asleep on the way home and i knew if i tried to go to the park they would just be cranky the whole time for having awakened them. so i went home and tried to transport them carefully with out rousing them too much. no dice. but i still tried to play with my new toy. now that i know what i can do on this little baby i get it out already to go, and now it does NOTHING!!!!!
i have no clue what happened. it won't do anything now but make mere dots on everything i try to use it on! if you have a tablet and this has happened to you please, please tell me how to fix this!
now it is time to go and pick up the kids...sigh. so much for that.

ooooooh!!!!
first of all, i was living in virtual bliss having switched over to mozilla. everything looked great and i was happy. then i happened over here to my blog in internet explorer and i find a jumbled mess! now i am trying to upload photos to my photo blog, which is, yes- a separate blog. i can't seem to upload any photos to it from mozilla OR ie- i am so frustrated right now...
i forgot to mention that i did take the kids to michael's and we picked up some fun crafts for them to do. some wooden crosses for the older kids to paint, and some foam ones and lots of foam stickers for the younger ones. and we also got some wooden eggs for painting. messy, but fun. and i haven't posted the pics yet. :(
i need to go to costco. i keep putting it off because i don't have layouts ready for printing and i figure if i'm going to go to costco i might as well get some layouts printed while i shop. what do i have to do to get them ready? just put 6 6x6s on a 12x18 formatted page and save to a disc. but i have yet to do it and i really need to go to costco so i am not going to let that hold me up anymore.
i am signing off now, i can't really think. i probably had more to say, but the kids are listening to matilda on tape, and i am half listening half typing, making a ton of typing errors. so i better go ...

new schtuff!
what a filled weekend i had! it's aaall good though. i filled everyone in on friday- that was pretty much my day. had my crop, then went to bed.
on saturday i woke up and jay had gone in to work. i soon learned he took two of the kids with him. he knew i had a baby shower to go to so he was home by 10am. the shower started at noon, and i was there just a few minutes after that, but the guest of honor was almost an hour late!! (hee hee- hi juls!!!) i had fun, but jay was not happy the rest of the day. after the shower i was home just long enough for him to go to the store before being picked up by my friends for dinner, after a nice dinner i went straight to a friend's house for a movie so i was gone basically all day! i walk in the door saturday night and he says to me, "look who decided to come home..." lol - i then went straight to bed. he is good to me though really, but i sooooo needed to be gone all day. it's what i call a mental health day.
on sunday, jay asks me, if you could buy anything you wanted what would you buy? and i could not think of a single thing! so after i had some time to think about it i told him how we needed new towels and i wanted to paint the walls and...he said, no! this is for you not the house! back to the drawing board. i don't NEED anything, so this is hard. then he added that it had to be something i would use- he is referring to the wacom tablet i just got a month ago, that is still sitting on my desk that i have not even attempted to use yet...he was thinking of getting me a new lense for my camera but the one he is thinking of is $1000 and i told him no since i may hardly use it. i can't justify buying it. a while later i got an idea- i told him he could always buy my ticket to chicago for october and he dashed that idea. he said that is gonna happen anyway so...i so love this man!
i am still trying to think of something. it figures, when i have the oppotunity, there is nothing i want or need. but when money is tight, i want everything! but then there are those times when opportunity comes and i spend it all on the kids. jay says not this time! so now i am thinking haircut, spa, a new spring wardrobe...btw, he is getting something for himself too, he is upgrading his computer, getting a video ipod, and something else (prolly something geeky- we are all for geeky in this house). oh! and while i was gone all day he took the time to get me a new phone! with the family plan we have we have the opportunity once a year to get a new phone free of charge. but the phones (he got one too) he got cost him a pretty penny since he did not choose one of the ones you get for free. so i said good bye to my old peeling, nokia and hello to my new motorola camera phone!
we have seen some crazy weather this weekend! it seems california forgot to have winter so decided she would throw some our way this weekend. it rained a good portion of the day on saturday and it was freezing cold! infact, we had a hail storm and parts of southern cali saw snow on the ground! how fun! the kids and jay were all outside catching hail so i snapped a few pics. i also did a layout this weekend!

just for the record...
i had a pretty busy day today. i knew i had to sub for a crop today so i got up early to work on the freebie. we were supposed to go to a baby shower for one of the children's teachers (yes, i still homeschool, but they also have teachers, i'll explain that someday in another post.) but it rained and sbb was down so i was able to work on the freebie with no distractions!! i'll tell ya, when i am on sbb, i am there all day! i know that is bad, i am slipping in the computer time management area big time! i got the freebie done, but was thinking it may have been for nothing, since the site was still down by the time i was done. then i got a call from the school saysing they moved the shower to the school. so we jetted over there for a bit. i took pics for about half an hour and then jetted back home to see if sbb was back up for the crop. it was1 and only a half hour before the crop! finished the crop, played a card game (war) with keith, took drew cam, and devy to piano lesson(3:00) came back to straighten up the house before jay arrived home. he came home,(3:30) and i jetted to the bank. when i got back(4:00), he went to pick up drew and cam from piano, leaving devy since she was not done for another half hour. dropped cam off at home (4:10) so i could take her to her art lesson which started at 4:30. he kept going with drew on to karate (he teaches a tai kwon do/ hapkido class once a week) so i dropped cam off at art lesson a little early (4:20) cause devy's piano lesson ends at 4:30! picked up devy and then went to pick up dinner(pizza) i ate dinner with the boys while devy went to a friend's house and then cam calls me at 5:30 telling me she is done. well, jay and i agreed that he would be picking her up from art lesson and he was not there! ugh! so i call him to find out where he is...on his way. ok.
so now i am here blogging.
paper and alpha circle-Dawn Stocstill's Simply Soft kit notebook paper strip- Amy Martin both can be found at modscraps.comi just found this really great artist named beckah shae- this girl can sang!!! she has this indie/neo soul thing going...just check her out! i really like all of the songs, but am really drawn into the groove of 'sistas' really relating to that song. 'victory' is another really good one... i could go on! ooooooohwee!!! if i could just get webjay hooked up on here! i have a pretty expansive playlist. i listen to all kinds of music- classical, country, r&b, hip hop, alternative, pop, i listen to it all and do not discriminate between genre. my radio is set to a christian station, but the songs are vast in types. just wait- you'll see, if i can just get. this. thing. hooked. up.

hircuts and a funny story....

i am contemplating cutting my hair this spring...i love the look of short, it's cute, but can be high maintenance for me. and i need little to no maintenance hair. i have no time to do my hair everyday. as of now, all i have to do to it is wash it and get a relaxer every other month. i curl it only when i have somewhere important to go, otherwise it's just straight and i pull it back at night. so i am really a practical kind of girl, and i am not really frivolous. getting a short hairstyle for me feels like a waste of money since within a month my hair will have grown out and i would be back at the salon trying to maintain the style...BUT, i want to try something new, something sassy, i want to look cute! the few times i have gotten my hair cut i feel empowered, i feel light, i feel pretty. then after a few weeks i regret the decision to cut it. then i wait. and while i wait, i spend a week putting it in braids, which lasts for about 3 months. then i relax it. and just wear it straight until i start getting grand delusions of cutting it short again. maybe i can just go to the salon and get something pretty done to it leaving it the length it is. maybe get some color. always wanted to try some red...
i was reading gina's blog this morning and she totally inspired me to do some spring/easter crafts with my kids. so i need to add go to michaels to my do do list for this week. devyn has been asking when we are going to get the house ready for Easter, so here we go...
a funny story. last week at cubbies we talked about the story of the shepherd who had 100 sheep and one had gone missing. so he had 99 sheep and one lost, who, he went to find to return to the fold. ok so, cubbies are 3 and 4 year olds who almost always have something cute to say. one little girl raised her hand and when she was called on, proceeded to say, "when i was lost, Jesus found me." all the adults said "awwwww, how sweet". well, then others began to raise their hand to cite the following, "when i was lost, Jesus found me", "one time i was lost, and Jesus found me" it went on all around the room like this, and one kid said, "one time, i was lost in the bushes, and Jesus found me." lol. but then my kid. my 3year old, raised his hand and said, "i was lost, Jesus found me and gave me a spanking." lovely huh?
i am hoping that today i will be able to get some scrapping done since i am always bad after coming back from not being on the computer for a few days. i find it hard to jump back in creatively for some reason. but i need to take a break from the computer for a bit right now and tackle some laundry, and figure out what to make for dinner. hopefully i'll have something by way of a layout to post later...

Home...
i became really sick after returning home. i don't know that it was just one thing, or a lot of little things like being tired, not eating and sleeping properly during the trip, and i also forgot to pack my thyroid medication, so i have been off of it for about 5 days, or the stress of what to do about schuyler, my oldest son. but enough of that-
my dad looks and sounds really good. he is incredibly chipper and in good spirits, but then again, i should not be surprised. alot of people have asked me if my dad is saved. he is. he knows the Lord and you can tell. his whole attitude about his whole ordeal is great and he is happy to be alive. he is eager to learn to walk and get around again and take care of himself. he will be fitted for a prosthetic leg soon, which he is excited about. he was glad to see me walk into his room, his whole face lit up! then he proceeded to pick up the phone and call everyone he could to tell them i was there. i am so glad i went.
now i gotta go and tackle laundry, shopping lists, and school work with the kids...
i just wanted to pop in and say hey!
