ok. december is here, time to get crackinlackin'! got the tree up. the kids decorated it and let me just tell you that it was painful to watch- every year i have to tell myself that the tree is for THEM not me. everything does not have to match and be pretty. it's okay to use colored lights and mix-matched ornaments. it's okay that they clumped alot of the same bulbs too closely together. it's okay that it's a skinny charlie brown tree. it's ookay. (forced smile) really. i'm over it already.
the weather is cooling off finally. it was a nice 61 degrees today. i took the kids to the park to practice taking pics with my new lens. a friend asked if i would take her family's christmas photo and i am a tad nervous. the family christmas photo is a huge deal, not only does the family need to have just the perfect photo to send out, it gets sent to...everyone!!!! so i practised on the kids. i really need more willing subjects. carter is so done with me taking his pics, if i put the camera to my face, he is conditioned to turn the opposite way and i could yell, cackle, sing, or do that jcpennystudio tongue rolling trill and he will not look at me. keith and devyn will look at me but not smile, deacon is getting better about that. drew and camryn are willing, but have that fake smile-far away look in their eyes going. but there was a little girl at the park today who kept following us around. she wanted to be in our pics sooooo bad. she even asked if she could. what was i supposed to say? "little girl, i'm in the middle of a photoshoot with my own kids right now, run along please." no. she was so cute, and so much more willing than my kids were. she had these big crystal blue eyes...so i added her to my family photos.
i even
took a few of her alone. she loved the camera! i only wish that i had taken her pop's number to give them these cute photos.in other news, i still have not gone shopping for my dress, but i do have a sitter!
i went to target with taina (rhymes with china). we always have a blast no matter where we go as long as we are together. we both have the same sense of humor and keep each other rotfl, we see eye to eye on mostly everything- religion, politics, napoleon dynamite, just life in general. anyway, just thought it was funny how she can make me laugh about anything. at target she picked up a fur change purse that looked like a dead animal (really) and posed with it. i cracked up immediately! i really should carry a little pocket camera with me whenever i am with her.
she loaned me a book to read about a year ago called 'the proper care and feeding of husbands' by dr. s-ican'tspellherlastname. and i held on to it, but never cracked it open. jay even read it. i got the gist of what it was about and figured i would get to it someday. recently, another friend recommended that i read it as she had just finished it and couldn't put it down. well, i figured i'd better start this book because for this particular friend to give it high praise was a lot. so i opened the book and i am so sorry but i cannot get past page 3! i can only read at night and i just fall asleep everytime i attempt to read this book! and since it is already 2am, i think i will pass reading time and collect some z's.....later.

what a doll of a model you found at the park! My kids are sick of me taking their picture too. Ahh well... what's a scrappin' mom to do. LOL
LOL about the tree Lisa! I find myself wanting my tree to look a certain way to, but I MAKE myself let them do it their way. Slowly, I change things around after the excitement has worn off! LOL!
Oh Lisa, I kept saying the same thing to myself too. It's their tree, let them clump those ornaments until the branch is lying helpless on the floor. The only thing I wouldn't budge on were the lights, they had to be white, especially since my husband put multi-colored lights all around outside (I kept my mouth shut about that, lol).
I tried to find an outfit today for our Christmas dinner and I came home with nothing for myself. Some store clerks hurt my feelings at a certain unnamed Loft store. I will not go back, no matter how many coupons they send me...period. (I hope I don't forget about this).
Love your blog!
