the dinner party was great! it looks like jay will be working with a great group of people, they were all very nice. i am so glad! the time before the party went, well...not so good for me.
in the morning i decided that since my photo shoot was not until 2, that i had plenty of time to go to the mall, especially since i knew exactly what i was going to get. a pair of shoes and a shawl. well, the first store i hit was jcpenny's cause i figured they would have both things there and i would be in and out, right? well i wasn't real happy about the shawls they had so i figured i would just look around. next store: robinson's. nothing. next store: macy's. nothing. i couldn't believe this! i had five (5) of the kids with me moaning and complaining about being hungry, carter was starting to have a melt down too. two hours later i ended up back at jcpenny's and found cute slingback's to go with my dress. then went back upstairs to look at the shawls again and decided on one that wasn't too bad after all, and it was on sale too. so i grabbed it and then on the way to the register i see these underwear things that controls and slims your waist and midriff. so i'm thinking i could use one of these since in the dress i'm going to wear i still look like i just had a baby even though he is over a year old. looking through the underwear, i can't seem to find what i 'think' is my size. it just goes from lg on up. i ask an associate for help. "does this come in a medium?" because i did not presume to be a small. lol, anyway if you need a small, why get one of these things to begin with? they didn't have any mediums left, and then the associate asked me my size. i told her and she thought the large would totally fit me!!! (gasp) i was kinda taken aback, but managed a onesided smile. and bought the items. to thank the kids for not totally losing their minds while being dragged around the mall i decided i would treat them to lunch there at mcdonalds. they were so excited. they went to find seats while i ordered. i didn't have much cash on me so i was going to use my atm card. well, it wouldn't work for some reason and we had to leave. i just knew keith was going to freak when i told him we had to leave, but he actually understood and didn't say anything! cool. so we get home and i have a message from the lady i was to do the photo shoot for. she is sick and needs to reschedule. fine by me, more time to get my eyebrows done. i reschedule her for the next day, after church. i go to get my eyebrows done and the person who did them last time no longer works there. this new lady seems nice enough...i have only had my eyebrows done a total of 3 times before this and i always catch myself looking at the person who is about to do my brows to see if theirs look good. hers look ok so i digress. she gets going and is half done with the first brow when while she is leaning over my face tells me that her nose is running and she needs to wipe it. ew! ok, do what you must- just don't drip on me!!! we are in a tiny little room with that bed thing that you lie on, her equipment and a sink. she walks over to the sink, does her thing, and comes back and says to me "did you know that it's the rubbing of hands together that removes germs?" i'm like huh? i'm sorry?
she says "yeah, it's the rubbing of your hands together and not the soap that kills the germs." obviously this was her subtle way of telling me that she DID NOT USE SOAP WHEN SHE WASHED HER HANDS FROM BLOWING HER NOSE!!! i just laid there. totally ready to go now. she finished my brows and she says "they look great!" i looked in the mirror and i didn't think so. my brows were rounded and i wanted them arched. my fault though since i didn't say. i never had to before...oh well. now i look like i am saying "huh?" all the time. now it's time to get ready for the party. i got little caesar's pizza for the kids on the way home from the salon so i got them fed before getting ready. didn't realize i was going to have to get jay ready too! he asked me to pick a shirt for him to wear. then he asked me to iron it. then he asked me to pick out his pants. then he puts the shirt on and it's too small. so i pick another shirt. lol, this one can go without needing an iron. whew! now i can get ready! when the time came to putting on the underwear thingy i was loathing the associate that told me "oh, yeah! that large should totally fit you!" "that large should totally fit you!" i repeated. i put it on and she was ofcourse right. it totally fit, it was totally snug, i was totally defeated. sigh. it has this waistnipper brief so it looks like one of those bodice things with panties attached. with a hook and eye closure in the front and the crotch. cool, if i have to go to the bathroom, all i have to do is snap, snap, snap, done!
got dressed, hair and make up and jewelry. babysitter is here so i get my shoes to head out! i put one shoe on my left foot, hmmm, must be the wrong foot, hard to tell cause they are pointy. try the other shoe, hmmm. that doesn't feel right either...can you guess where this is going?!! yep! two right shoes!! lol!! the party started at 6, and it was that time now and jay didn't even wince when i told him we had to stop at payless so i could buy new shoes! he just wanted to leave so we left. at payless i got the least ugly pair of shoes i could find that went with my dress. we finally arrive at the party only 45mins. late. dinner started at 7, and apparently jay ordered our meals a few days before, you know they asked the usual question at work: chicken or beef? he got one of each, chicken for me, primerib for him. (i don't eat pinkmeat) if you didn't think anything else could go wrong (like i did), think again. they lost my meal ticket! someone talked to the cook and got it worked out. the dinner went nicely. we talked, ate, and had a great time meeting everyone. i drank lots of water throughout the meal and it hit me all at once. all of a sudden, i had to go bad! i excused myself from the table and made a dash for the bathroom and i will just leave you with this- remember the bodice brief i mentioned before with the hook and eye closure at the crotch???

Oh I've SO had that kind of day!!!! The older I get, the more paranoid I get about other people and their germs! I would've been pretty upset about the eyebrow girl! One time I went in with my friend to get a burrito at a fast food place. I have to force myself not to notice every little thing on everyone working behind the counter. LOL! Well-I noticed the guy that was wrapping the burritos had a big bandaid on his finger! EWWWWWWW!!!!! I freaked. I got the burrito, and I threw it in the trash. I know I should've told the manager, but I just wanted to get out of there! You can't be too careful these days!!! Hope your day was better today!

You're quite the storyteller, Lisa--this is tooooo amusing!
I hadn't heard the rubbing of hands is what kills the germs and not the soap. Is that along the same lines as it's the brushing of your teeth that removes the gunk and paste isn't necessary for anything?
I like your comment about the bodyshaper sizes--yah, why would there be a size small, cuz a size small wouldn't need one would they?!
