once again, it is the wee hours of the morning and i am bloggin...
today we go back to the fair, and i will not forget my camera this time- if i do, i don't deserve to have it!
trying to reorganize the house because we are just bursting at the seams!! and what do i do? i always go off and buy MORE furniture! the type of furniture i often try to get are the ones with storage and then i think that will make things better...those pieces of furniture generally get filled with stuff and ends up looking not as great as i thought it would...sigh...for instance, over a year ago i bought (by the way, i am a huge lover of pottery barn) this bench and shelf unit in black. see how nice and neat it looks here? this picture is what i had in mind, and our clutter problem would be solved, right? WRONG!!!!
we just filled those baskets with junk and papers are hanging out of the cubbies in the shelf. so now i am getting ready to do it again... i want this little beauty below. it's perfect i say, the kids can store their books and toys in the baskets, and maybe i'll quit tripping over them! but now a funny thing is happening as i type this, since i am just typing this right off the top of my head, i am realizing that i just really need to go through and throw things away, get rid of the clutter, and make the kids put away their toys in their proper places or get rid of them too! the toys, not the kids...
can i do this? WILL i do this? ok. you all will hold me accountable. i will post pics of various places around my house that i want to reorganize (the before) and i will post another pic after i have done it (the after). so there. i have to do this. oh, and the money i save from not buying this expensive band-aid you see above, will buy my new camera, eh? i can just see jay closing his eyes and shaking his head...

Too funny, I'm a PetteryBarn junkie myself too. I bought a desk a month ago, hoping to help me get more organized. Well, you can't see the top of it anymore for all the photos/frames/mail I put there. I've always loved that bench you bought, but I don't have room for it.

Sigh...it looks so tidy in those photos...
Heh heh--Lisa, I have zero kiddos, and still have clutter!

Oh-do I feel your pain! IRL for most of us, those beautiful storage pieces just collect stuff we don't really need to store! LOL! Remember those photos are professional photo shoots, not houses filled with kids! Good luck L! I'm working right along with you!
