you guessed it! my camera!!! i am such a dimwit! of course i missed lots of photo ops- and speaking of photos, i saw my entry posted with it's little red ribbon next to it. i also saw what got first place...let me just say, i am soooooo entering some of my digital layouts next year!!! thanks to all my peeps who wished me well! thanks for all the love!! you guys are so kind!
we had a fun day! i love going to the fair...to eat! funnel cakes, curly fries, snowcones, cotton candy, candy apples! YUM! aw, don't worry, i didn't eat it all...yet- still working on the cotton candy ;) !
i am kinda bummed though, the Newsboys are going to be there in concert tomorrow and it would be so fun to go! but i wouldn't want to go alone. jay doesn't care for contemporary christian music so he won't go...just as well, neither one of us are concert type people and i'd probably be the oldest one there rockin' out to the Newsboys!i love their songs. "shine" is my favorite, i was so excited when kim.bee posted a layout at sbb with some of the lyrics, that i could not get the song out of my head and i had to make a "shine" layout of my own. well... no, i didn't finish it- but i will someday! so i will miss the Newsboys, i know they are going to be awesome!
oh i just have to post this: did you nursing mothers out there know that cabbage leaves relieves engorgement? i am trying to wean carter and the other night i couldn't even lift my arms i hurt so bad. i was chatting with helen and she said someone told her about using cabbage leaves! ya! cabbage leaves! now, what i wanna know is this- how in the world do people find that these kinds of things work? what makes a person even THINK to put cabbage leaves on their breasts????!!! did someone just say one day, "man, i am so engorged today- hey! i think i'll put some cabbage leaves on my breasts and see if that works!" and apparently it does work- she did a google and all this information about cabbage leaves and nursing came up! guess i need to make some cabbage soup now, since i actually went out and bought some cabbage, but i haven't been engorged since i got it!
geesh! it's 2am! not tired at all right now, but i guess i'd better go...

Yes...... cabbage leaves work!!!
Try it, it works magic.
I am a SAHM of 5. I had twins in '96, and had my 5th child in '00. When my milk came in, I was engorged and had to much milk. I called my DR, and he even told me to try cabbage. It works. It really works!!!
Heehee.. about the cabbage leaves. I'm guessing some overheated mom looked in the fridge for something... anything cool to stick in her bra to cool off and tried cabbage leaves. What an extra bonus! LOL I've always wonder who figured out how to make olives edible by soaking them in LYE, a very caustic substance. I love olives but wouldn't have wanted to be the first taste tester!
Cabbage leaves were magic for me! My husband was laughing so hard at me for sending him to the grocery for cabbage leaves, but they worked like a charm, especially really really cold ones!
I like the Newsboys too! Shine is an awesome song! Luckily I didn't have to use the cabbage leaves, but I sure hope they work their magic for you!
OOPS the anonymous post is from me-I forgot to put my name! LOL!
