i got the kid's advent calendars on time! i get the $.99 ones from trader joe's with the chocolate and usually get them a few days late so the kids get to eat a few chocolates on the first day but not this time!
on december 1 we enjoyed 73 degree weather while a lot of my other friends across the u.s. froze.
i had a really hard time getting the christmas family photo done. i didn't plan it very well, and we had a dog thrown into the mix and nothing went my way at all. i finally settled on a photo that wasn't my favorite, but then uploading and ordering was another ordeal.
i found that baking when mad to be helpful. it's much easier to beat butter into submission that way.
i discovered sweetapolita!
i entertained the thought of building a mantel.
we made the decision to not be involved in track this spring. i usually coach and the kids run, but we have other things going on that won't allow me to be an effective coach or even watch my kids run. devyn is doing club soccer which may involve some traveling and drew is running track for his high school and i want to be at his meets.
devyn had a soccer tournament in valencia but her team didn't go very far :(
december 12 was so hot the kids were begging me to take them to the beach!
we celebrated deacon's 8th birthday!
i got an ipad!
i watched season 6 of lost! still lost :(
i made this version of peppermint bark.

| the ipad was my christmas gift. guess who used it more than me? |
it's been so easy to put together especially since i have my photos organized by months so i'm working backwards while i wait for this month to end. i'm gonna have a book for 2010, 2011, and possibly 2009! i love that i don't have to take a photo every single day, but just enough to cover our month. love it!
shared this video- i loved it!
i have started thinking of everywhere i want to put up bead board in the house. pretty much every where! is there such a thing as too much?
drew got the flu, but is better now. i was thinking were were pretty lucky to only have one person get sick but then carter woke up with 102 fever this morning at 2:30. ugh.
so, now we are all caught up- wasn't that fun?

Hi Lisa,
I read your blog... I have for geez 5 years. I love it!
Have a great day!!
I'm here! I'm here! I put Google Reader on Flipboard and away I went! Keep posting on your blog and I will read. I have the same blog/ Facebook struggles and am going to try and be better about blogging this year. I love FB but it's not the same as reading my friends blogs.
I like your idea of making one room better each month. That is very do-able for me too. Oh, and I love your monthly layouts. They are very similar to Cathy Zielske's "Monthly" templates. Have you seen them?
I'm in love with this post, so much of it resonates my life, my feelings.
I feel as if no one reads my posts either, but then I realize it's an outlet for me, not an outlet that I created JUST for others to read.
I jot down sooooo many ideas in my head that never see the light of day!! LOL
I ALWAYS get advent calendars late, I finally got a wooden advent train that I can fill with different goodies, I'm always late filling it!!!
I was one of your "friends" that was frozen on Dec 1st!
I've never even tried a christmas photo and I know I will regret it, I hate my size right now and just don't want to see myself in photos but I know everyone else suffers because of it.
I love to bake, hmm hence my size!! LOL No seriously I try to bake healthily, I know my weight it due to child birth and lack of exercise we eat pretty healthily around here.
I got an iPad for my birthday, I love it. I have it tucked away in my purse today, I'm hoping to steal a 15 minute break at work and read a little bit of "Nights in Rodanthe".
I too was still lost at the end of lost. I still have sooo many questions. I guess I could google them all but I'd get lost!!! LOL
I used to make peppermint bark when I got out of college. I'll have to try your recipe!
Why is it soo hard to stay up on New Years Eve...it was never that hard in college!?
I see you too have the tradition that how you start the new year is how you'll proceed with the actual year. I hope it wasn't so with you and that you didn't continue the year irritated at your husband.
I just love your new photo project, I love looking at people 365 projects and dream that I will one day do one, but for some reason follow through has been really hard on me the last few years. I can follow through on small things, but larger projects usually for myself always seem to fall to the weigh side. I guess that's part of being a mom, always sacrificing!!!
