i have posted more disneyland photos to my photoblog (see my links list).
our thanksgiving went pretty smoothly. jay's parents were not able to come since jay felt that he was on the verge of catching a cold and his dad should not risk getting sick since he is still not 100% from his bypass. so it was just us, jay's brother joel and his wife, christine. jay ended up cooking the turkey and it was yummy. joel was supposed to make a pecan pie, but couldn't find pecans so he made a walnut pie instead...um, i couldn't even tell you what that was like as i didn't have any...he also made a pumpkin pie, which was delicious, but still not as good as their mom's. he also brought a butternut squash dish, that was pretty good and a spinach pear salad that had asian pears, spinach leaves, slices of parmesan cheese, and a balsalmic dressing on it- very yummy. what did i make? lol! i made mashed potatoes and a cornbread dressing which was a treat for me. since we go to mil's house every year, we always have her stuffing- which is good, even though it has raisins in it, i'm just a southern gal who grew up having cornbread dressing alongside my turkey. oh, and i also made rolls, well actually, costco made the rolls, but i warmed them up and the kids loved them over anything else on the table! we ate til we were stuffed, and while i took care of the dishes the kids watched charlie and the chocolate factory(for the 20th time) with their aunt and uncle. halfway into the movie, we had dessert- oh! i almost forgot! drew made oreo pudding!! he wanted to contribute something to the dinner so i let him make pudding. he was quite pleased with himself and the pudding too! we had a very nice time and i can't believe how nervous i was about having dinner at my house this year. the only thing at my house that matches are the plates, glasses and flatware. i didn't have a turkey platter or a even a gravy boat. i don't have matching bowls for the side dishes, so there was tupperware among the china but i ended up not caring at all. my family was with me, we were together and that was all that mattered in the end.
and that's something to be very thankful for.

Glad you had such a wonderful day! Unfortunately our REAL Thanksgiving dinner wasn't too great this year. It's all on my blog!
so true about the dishes. It's funny, i was thinking about Thanksgiving dinner with the family on my drive out to the in-laws house, and I just kept thinking to myself, wouldn't it be wonderful if we all got out of a nice car in the middle of the snowy woods infront of a gorgeous house in beautiful holiday dress and every thing was like the lovely movies where that happens, everyone sits around a breathtaking spread with all the best serving finery :) Okay, yeah, it would be nice, but what's even nicer, and far more special, is that the day is spent with the ones we love and that we have a fun time being together! Of course! Funny how we can forget that.
sounds like you had great food and family, a winning combination in my book anyday!
